Visual Basic

Microsoft's Visual Basic 3.0 is released in the summer of 1993. By this time, Visual Basic has become enormously popular as a fast and easy way of developing business applications for Windows. By incorporating Visual Basic Controls (VBX), Microsoft spawns the first commercially viable market for reusable software components. The result is a large third party market of VBX controls for sale.
